The checking on my Topsy Turvy tomato plant doesn’t have that upbeat feel to it. There isn’t the engaging couple, dressed in pastel shades of freshly-pressed cotton, leisurely enjoying gardening on the patio during their golden years (really two 18-year-olds who dyed their hair gray for the commercial). It’s just wrinkly me dumping water or plant food into the topsy from an old grape juice bottle while standing on a fold-up chair in my wrinkly nightgown. The tomato plant on the commercial is full and bushy; mine is long and straggly. But it does have three promising little green potentials of tomato on it.

So when the crops come in, I’ll be sure to post about those 1 ½ tomato sandwiches.
