Last night I stopped too much “living in air-conditioned limbo” (to quote Elvis Costello) to sit on the lounge chair on my front porch and enjoy the show. The storm cooled me with mists of horizontal rain, while trees across the street looked like victims of Paparazzi flashbulbs at night.

None of the cats had the guts (does that sound surgical?) to sit with me through all that booming. They all went in the barn or under the house. I guess they don’t get lured away from knowing they’re part of nature like we do. No need to reconnect when you never disconnect.
