It literally started as soon as we opened the last gift.

Wispy. Not sticking. Then white on the bushes. Then some of the leaves on the ground were covered. Then, the big flakes came and the ground was blanketed in no time. Softly in sound and in texture, the blanket is becoming thicker and fluffier.

Mother Nature didn’t want her Christmas present to be a backdrop for our human giving and receiving. She wanted her spectacular gift to be on center stage.

She wanted the gift to be a surprise—the meteorologists said there would be a snow/rain mix that wouldn’t stick.

She waited for our full attention. Then she presented her gift of winter beauty.
