My plan was to learn the specific method of phlebotomy, and once I learned, I’d be good to go.

If I’d known that it’s a skill you learn by getting a feel for it; where people who’ve drawn blood for years can miss and never know why, I may have been too afraid to try.

And that would have been a shame, because I love phlebotomy.

I love it, but it’s scary. And I’m told fear is a phlebotomist’s worst enemy. “What if I miss?” is a component of poor technique.

A positive attitude and using intuition. Funny how I stumbled into a career that exactly describes how I want to live my entire life.
